Our annual analysis of which charities received the most vouchers in the year (2017/18), shows Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support once again in first and second places respectively.
Alzheimer’s Research UK rose from 9th to 3rd position, with Save The Children staying in 4th. MIND, Diabetes UK and UNICEF all rose several places up the list.
As in the last two years, the major cancer charities received a large proportion of all vouchers (over 10%). More broadly, health charities occupied 5 of the top 10 places.
Over 450 charities received Charity Voucher donations during the year. The top 20 charities accounted for over 30% of vouchers. At the other end of the scale, many smaller charities received just one or two vouchers during the year. (The ability to donate to even the smallest charities continues to be a very popular part of the Charity Vouchers service).
We are delighted to be able to announce that Charity Voucher sales during 2017/18 were our highest yet and the total amount of money given to charities during has also exceeded our previous maximum, set in 2016/17.
On behalf of all the charities, we would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all users of the Charity Vouchers service. The demands on charities seem to rise year on year so, with your help, we hope we can do even better in the year ahead!
